My Journey

Having my own baby has helped me find my passion. Having a rough birth with my first child opened my eyes to the reality of learning to be a new parent while at the same time physically recovering from birth. I was very fortunate to have an amazing support system when I came home with my new baby. My only responsibility was bond with baby, feed baby and rest everything else was handled for me in those first two weeks. I realized that not every new parent has the support they need while healing and adjusting to their new life with their newborn. I want to be that support for those families that need the extra help. I decided to research the topic and found there was a profession just for this, postpartum doula. So I am currently working on getting certified as a Postpartum Doula through CAPPA.
Every job I have had was one where I have taken care of people. I started as a nanny while attending college then moved on to taking care of the elderly working at an assisted living home and finally back to newborns and their parents. I'm so thrilled to have found a community of like minded people and I am excited to empower and help new families in this new chapter of their lives.
